Amy Imler studio is where the ladies paint on Thursday. The work done in the studio ranges from realistic oil paintings to abstracts done in the style of Amy's paintings. Clarence, Amy's husband, and I are the only males present for the weekly painting sessions. Lunch is served at Bobby's Cafe located down the road. Everything is southern fried and tastes great. The studio is an inspiration to all of us. I can't waite for thursday to come to paint with the ladies. The work done in the studio is some of the best done in Arkansas. You'all come see us now!

What you see here is a posterized version of a photo I took of my iris. I am trying to paint the thing on a sheet of 300# Arches rough. If I am successful I will post the painting at a later date.

Sorry about January. There was just too much going on. The painting show was done for the january meeting of The Arkansas Pastel Society. The ladies critiqued the painting and made some useful suggestions. I look forwar to doing more pastel paintings in 2009.

This photo is of a painting of Two Rivers Park with a piece of drift wood and two rocks I picked up at a construction site at Maumelle, Arkansas in the photo foreground. I have used the photo as a decoupage element on a wood box I decorated for a friend. I think it is neat.

This painting was developed from a photo reference I took at the War Eagle Craft Fair. I painted a large watercolor painting first, and at the urging of my teacher Amy Imler, I painted this smaller painting. It is by far one of the best painting I have ever done. I submitted it to First Lady Ginger Bebee's annual calendar juried competition and to Artist in the Air. Again, wish me luck.
